Soundtrack, comic, paperwork and movie of Silent Hill
Silent Hill will be nothing without its particular music composed by Akira Yamaoka (except for Silent Hill Play Novel game and the music "Esperandote" in SH composed by Rika Muranaka) and its special noise and surrounding effects. Those effects create a special ambiance and make the player more immersed in this horror survival game. The ambiance is similar to the movie “The Ring” (japanese version) directed by Hideo Nakata in 1997 and will make you fluff your hair in each dark corner. More than that, soundtracks include also the following songs:

Artwork, comic and multimedia
The game series became so popular that a series of comics, artworks and paperwork have been edited like:
- Silent Hill Omnibus, a comic compilation of 400 pages which includes "SH Dying Inside", "SH Three Bloody Tales" and "SH Dead/Alive"
- SH Sinner's Reward
- Drawing Block SH3 Program
- Silent Hill, novelization of the first game divided in 3 chapters - fog, darkness and nightmare
- Paint It Black
- Among The Damned
- Grinning Man.
"SH Cage of Cradle" and "SH Double Under Dusk" are the 2 mangas edited so far until now and to satisfy fans, 3 multimedia in DVD have been released - "Art of Silent Hill", "Lost Memories The Art and Music of Silent Hill" and "The Silent Hill Experience".
To complete the SH encyclopedia, a 57 minutes audio drama has been released and included in the soundtrack of SH4 called "Inescapable Rain in Yoshiwara" and later, an additional 16 minutes have been added.
Movie
The film has been released in theater in 2006 and directed by Christophe Gans with Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, Laurie Holden.
The movie respects quite well the plot of the first game in spite that it is a mix of the first 4 games and the fact that the main characters Harry Mason has been replaced by Rose Da Silva and Cheryl by Sharon.
Rose, desperate to find a way to elude the nightmare of her adoptive daughter Sharon, decides to go to Silent Hill in spite that her husband was against the idea. Before to enter in the town, she got a car incident and when she woke up, a kind of dust mist is surrounding her and Sharon has disappeared. Decided to find out what happened, she will enter in the town and from this moment, the nightmare begins in her quest of truth.
The music is composed by Akira Yamaoka and the majority of them are from the video games including some songs like "You’re Not Here” and "Waiting for You" performed by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn.
